Workflow TemplatesWorkflows created in Diamonds are represented by a set of stages or statuses, with associated tasks, that should be carried out in a certain order, or in accordance with other workflow rules that dictate the order of the activities in the flow. The workflow designer is a visual designer tool that allows you to draw and configure your workflows. Workflows can be associated to underlying business objects or data schemes and associated tasks and rules can be easily configured via properties tabs and through step-by-step configuration wizards. Documents can be associated to different stages of the workflows, so that they are visible and available when they are required. Extensive role based security and task allocation is also available, allowing you to have complete control of the configuration of your workflow in line with your business. Once complete and verified, workflow templates can then be categorised and stored in the Diamonds Workflow Repository, ready to be published and made active within your Diamonds solutions when required. |

Workflow EventsAlthough the Diamonds Business Process engine implicitly executes events associated to the configured workflows and the tasks around them, additional events can be configured that bring even more extensibility to the configured workflows and allowing for true Business Process Management (BPM).These workflow events can be relatively easily configured by means of events wizards, comprising of a series of screens that allow for step-by-step configuration. Events can entail a call to a Database Function or XML compliant Services, allowing for the retrieval and/or manipulation of data in internal or external databases and systems. This allows for extensive integration of your workflow with the other systems your organisation is dependant on. These events can be configured to execute at various points in a configured process, such as Start of Business Process, End of Business Process, When status Changed, When status reached etc. The integration methods adopted and supported are based on industry standards such as PL/SQL via standard Oracle connection methods and XML Compliant Web services. |
